14 Day Tour Details
Day 1: Johannesburg - South Africa
You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Outlook Lodge.
The Outlook Lodge is situated within 10 minutes drive from Johannesburg International Airport. Rooms are tastefully and elegantly furnished to celebrate South Africa's wonderful diversity of wildlife and spectacular landscapes. Rooms are large and beautifully furnished. Coffee and tea making facilities are available in every room as well as satellite television. All rooms have their own private bathroom facilities. Public areas such as the lounge and bar area are friendly and unassuming with fireplaces scattered throughout the lodge. The lounge is the ideal place to watch a wildlife documentary, read a book or simply relax with friends and family.
Day 2: Gaberone - Botswana
You will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Gaberone (cost not included). You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Walmont Hotel.
The Walmont Hotel is located 2.4 miles from the City Centre of Gaborone and 7 mile from the International Airport. The hotel offers executive style accommodation and top of the range facilities to meet the needs of the discerning traveler. The hotel features 187 superbly appointed bedrooms and suites.
Day 3: Gaborone - Botswana
Departing from Gaborone you make your way to Mochudi, the "birth place" of Mma Ramotswe. Mochudi is the capital of the Bakgatla people. On the way to the kgotla you will pass some baobab trees. At the kgotla you will see one of the oldest surviving buildings in Botswana (1870) now used as the Tribal Police station. From the kgotla you carry on to Phuthadikobo Museum, set on the hill, with the most awesome view. You will pass traditional houses set along the twisting roads leading up the hillsides.
On your return to Gaborone you make your way to Zebra Way where Mma Ramotswe supposedly "lived". Continue towards the main mall past the House of Assembly. You will stop off for a cup of bush tea on the terrace of the President Hotel and watch the activities in the main mall area. Continuing with the tour you pass the Princess Marina Hospital and Anglican Cathedral and drive on towards the University of Botswana. You now approach the village where Mr.J.L.B. Matekoni is said to have lived, passing the vicinity of the old airstrip and Officers Mess. Entering Tlokweng you will see the gum tree plantation Mma Ramotswe would gaze at whilst contemplating her latest case. You can
image where Speedy Motors would have been situated in this area. You then proceed to the SOS Children's Village (the orphanage). An optional visit can be arranged at the request of the client. The tour continues past the Gaborone Dam and Old Naledi where Mma Ramotswe's assistant, Mma Makutsi, first lived before she moved to Extension 2. Up ahead is Kgali where "the No1 detective Agency" all started. You will also visit areas that have been highlighted in the making of the film. The last stop will be the Memorial to the Three Founding Chiefs of Botswana. Overnight at the Walmont Hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 3: Okavango Delta
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for departure to Maun, gateway to the Okavango Delta. You will be met on arrival and assisted with the light air transfer to Kanana Camp. The transfer, all meals and game activities are included.
Kanana is a hidden jewel set on the Xudum River in the southwest Okavango. The area encompasses a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn, and is home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals. The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta.
Guests are accommodated in eight spacious, twin-bedded safari `Meru` style tents, set on raised teak decks, offering breathtaking views across the waterways. Dependent on the annual floods, the level of water transforms this dry camp into a true water experience and in the early months of the year you may actually enjoy the visible spectacle of the water rising around the camp. All tents offer en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, shower and flush toilet. The tents are well spaced affording privacy, whilst still being within comfortable distance from the central dining and lounge area. Game drives in specially designed vehicles in the morning and late afternoon, into the evening on night drives. Alternatively you may explore the crystal clear waterways by mekoro or powerboats, and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plant and reptile species found in the area.
Day 6, 7 Moremi Game Reserve - Botswana
Transfer by light aircraft to Camp Okuti. The transfer, all meals and game activities are included.
Camp Okuti lies alongside the Maunachira River, which flows through the Xakanaxa Lagoon within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Offering a welcome touch of comfort, Okuti has recently been rebuilt amidst the wilderness of one of Botswana`s prime game viewing regions. Okuti caters for a maximum of 18 guests, accommodation units each available with ensuite bathroom, hot and cold running water and flush toilets. Five units are twin share and two are family units consisting of two rooms sharing a bathroom, ideal for families as Okuti is a child friendly lodge.
Experience game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve in specially designed safari vehicles, allowing unhindered views for game viewing and photography. Moremi is a park rich in wildlife and game viewing is consistent year round so it is ideal for the first time visitor to Botswana. Day 8, 9: Chobe - Botswana
Transfer by light aircraft to Muchenje Safari Lodge for 2 nights. The transfer, all meals and game activities are included.
Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated on an escarpment edge, on the remote western side of the world famous Chobe National Park, is the only lodge in this area and offers an unique and prolific wildlife experience. The lodge is just forty minutes from Kasane and two hours by road from Victoria Falls. Muchenje offers unparalleled safari experiences for both discerning clientele and newcomers to the bush alike. Owner run and managed, attention to detail is paramount with nothing being too much trouble at Muchenje. Muchenje accommodates just 22 guests in intimate exclusivity. The eleven twin-bedded thatched chalets, all with en-suite facilities, are situated on the escarpment edge, each with its own balcony and unique view. Each chalet is exquisitely furnished and great care has been taken to create a true African 'ambience'. Overlooking the Chobe River and floodplains, the main lodge features a dining area, bar, reception, curio shop, game viewing platform and library. Day 10, 11: Victoria Falls - Livingston
Transfer by road to Thorntree Lodge. Includes transfer, meals, tour of Falls and 1 sunset cruise.
Thorntree Lodge is on the Zambian bank of the Zambezi River, within the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and just 10 miles upstream from the spectacular Victoria Falls lies the secluded Thorntree River Lodge. With 6 twin rooms and 2 honeymoon suites, Thorntree River Lodge offers its guests a unique and personal African experience all year round. Each accommodation unit has its own en-suite facilities and all are beautifully appointed. Welcoming drinks and excellent cuisine are enjoyed from the centrally situated lounge and dining area. There is also a swimming pool with a water level bar and a thatched lapa in which to simply relax during the heat of the day. An assortment of pre-dinner snacks are prepared on the deck at sun downer time, when guests can enjoy the Zambezi's famous sunsets and perhaps watch the regular procession of elephant as they follow an age old migration route that runs directly in front of the Lodge.

Day 2, 3: Livingston - Zambia
You will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Livingston(cost not included). You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Stanley Safari Lodge for 2 nights. All meals and drinks are included.

Evenings can be spent sampling wine from our cellars or unwinding by the hearth Each of our 7 luxury cottages is individually designed and decorated with local materials. Day 4, 5, 6: Linyanti - Botswana
This morning you will be transferred by road to Kasane in Botswana and then by light aircraft to Lagoon Camp. All meals, drinks, game activities, laundry and the transfers are included.
Lagoon Camp Shaded under massive African Ebony trees, situated centrally, in the extensive Kwando wilderness is Kwando Lagoon Camp. The Camp comprises 8 spacious tents with views over the private lagoon formed by the ever-changing Kwando River. Each tent comprises a bedroom area with a spacious bathroom en suite. A small plunge pool is available to cool off during the long summer days. The resident hippos entertain our guests as they sit in the deck chairs on the decks in front of their tents. Morning and night game drives are conducted by our specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles. This area is home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo. There are few places in Africa where such concentrated numbers of these animals exist, especially in the dry season. Morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4's, lagoon cruises, and game walks are available.
Day 7, 8, 9: Okavango Delta - Botswana
This morning you will transfer by light aircraft to Kwara Camp. All meals, drinks, game activities, laundry and the transfers are included.
Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve. No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Delta, the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the Kalahari desert. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands. The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. Resident hippos will generally serenade you year round from the water on the floodplain in front of the camp. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities including hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. Morning, afternoon/night game drives, game walks, mekoro rides, and power boat game viewing is available.
Day 10, 11: Nxai Pan - Botswana
Today you transfer by light plane to Nxai Pan Camp. All meals, drinks, game activities, laundry and the transfers are included.
Nxai Pan Camp. Situated in the tree line are 8 desert rooms - all rooms have thatched roofs and insulation so it is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The main area consists of a dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. We will also have a swimming pool, library and curio shop. Nxai Pan National Park lies just north of the Maun-Nata road and adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its northern border. The Nxai Pans were once part of the great lake that covered central Botswana - which included The Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi and Lake Ngami to name a few. Activities include game drives and nature walks.
Day 12: Gaberone
